Kafe v Kufru

Remember how a few posts back I raved about a new Vinohrady café? I found another. Vinohrady just keeps opening impressive cafes.

Now, this latest experience isn’t taking anything away from AnyonymouS, which still retains the attributes I gave it. But at Kufru I found a cozy atmosphere (versus AnyonymouS’ hip vibe) and a place to spend time with good friends (versus a work space or generic meeting venue). Kufru has a super friendly owner and fabulous dog named Meruňka (oddly, AnyonymouS also boasts a dog, a trend I wholly support). There’s a garden being done up in the back which will nicely add to the space, which is just two small narrow rooms (the name translates to café in a suitcase – that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but it is tiny).

The cappuccino (45 CZK) was perfectly suited to the occasion, being of decent size and quality. The café doesn’t open until 11 and also serves light food, cakes and wine. The overall atmosphere, comfortable shabby chic décor, smiling service and potential outdoor space make it Vinohrady destination café.
